Responsibilities
  • Daily monitoring of assigned vessel communications and requirements to maintain the vessel in safe operations;
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of the vessel and office computerised safety management system;
  • Monitor in coordination with the Master and Chief Engineers that the vessel conforms to port state and flag state requirements;
  • Monitor and maintain the assigned vesselís conforms to Class and statutory periodical surveys and internal and external audits. To plan and arrange for Surveyors attendance of same;
  • Inspect assigned fleet periodically according to Company's policy and to submit written report to Assistant Operation Director;
  • Liaise with Technical Superintendent, Master or Chief Engineer on the vessel's maintenance programme and on operational matters;
  • Prepare vessel for third party inspection, audits and vetting ;
  • Monitors fleet's navigational, deck and cargo operation efficiency, ship and crew safety policies;
  • Liaise with Masters on chart/publication updating navigational issues;
  • Informs vessels of National, Class, International regulations and rules in force
  • Liaise with Masters on maintenance of LSA/FFA equipment
  • Liaise with Master on maintenance of Navigational and communication equipment
  • Provide Masters with navigational information where required
  • Vetting of Senior Deck officers for employment on vessels

  • Sailed onboard as Deck Officer holding Class 1 Certificate of Competence;

    Responsibilities
  • Monitor vessel operational needs and repairs preventive maintenance to avoid down time and port state control issues
  • Coordinate with vessel operators for any repairs to be carried out that affects the vessel schedules
  • Arranging repairs and service as required and negotiating for competitive price
  • Planning and monitoring of vessel operational budget
  • Preparing of vessel dry docking specifications, budgets and reports
  • Supervise dry docking repairs and daily reporting of activities
  • Monitoring of vessel dry docking cost and updating to the management weekly and before departure
  • Preparing the vessel for class surveys, updating of survey status and maintaining vessel in Class
  • Vetting the vessel requisitions, quotation and approvals
  • Monitoring of vessel daily report, main engine parameters, Lub oil Robs status, work report done
  • Monitoring vessel lub oil consumption
  • Monitoring vessel lub oil sample analysis and advising the vessel for corrective actions if required
  • Vetting the fuel oil analysis results and advising the vessel if spec is not met

  • Prepare vessel for third party inspection and vetting vessel in coordination with Marine Manager, Superintendent and the Master
  • Carry out vessel routine inspection and visits and ensure defect listed is closed out

  • Assessing into computerized safety management system for reviews and closing of reports
  • Carry out investigation for root cause of machinery breakdown and preventive measures
  • To coordinate with underwriters surveyors, Class surveyors and repair company / yard for H&M / P&I matters. Compiling of cost and reports for submitting to underwriters
  • Carry out pre- purchase S&P inspections
  • Supervising taking over of vessel management as well as sales of vessel
  • Hands on experience and able to trouble shoot and motivate crews to perform duty respectively
  • To sail with vessel for short voyages and evaluate machinery problems and to plan for repairs to prevent stoppages and breakdown
  • Requirements
  • Sailed onboard as Engineer holding Class 1 Certificate of Competence

  • Polytechnic Diploma in Supply Chain/Engineering/Marine discipline
  • 2 year sailing experience as junior deck or engineer preferred. Those without this criterion can be considered based on similar merits
